Our Mission
Brown & Associates Medical Laboratories (“Brown
Pathology”) is committed to providing superior
surgical pathology services to our facilities,
medical staffs and most importantly, our
patients, and to assure the delivery of quality
care in a cost-effective manner.
Our Vision
To continually improve the standards of
healthcare at the facilities we serve.
About Us
Brown Pathology was founded by a group of
Pathologists in 1951 in Houston, Texas and
opened its first laboratory in the Texas Medical
Center. Brown Pathology’s 11 Partners, along
with their Associates, provide pathology medical
directorships at diverse healthcare facilities
in Houston and surrounding areas, including
hospitals ranging in size from 77 beds to 444
beds, ambulatory surgery centers and reference
laboratories. Our contracted hospitals have
worked with us for 40 years on average (the
longest being 60 years).
Brown’s pathologists are all board certified, of
which most hold double board certifications in
Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, and some hold
three or more board certifications in such
fields as Dermatopathology, Cytopathology,
Hematopathology and Blood Banking. Brown
Pathology’s physicians participate in a number
of proficiency testing programs, serve as
inspectors with the College of American
Pathologists (CAP) Laboratory Accreditation
Program and are actively involved in the medical
community. Our Pathologists are members of the
American Medical Association, Texas Medical
Association and the County Medical Society.
Brown Pathology provides quality technical
surgical processing of tissue in our independent
laboratory which is located near the Texas
Medical Center. The facility features a full
service histology laboratory with Computer Trust
Corporation’s WinSURGE™ Anatomic Pathology
Software, which is designed specifically to
provide flexible pathology reporting, including
imaging and electronic transmission of reports. |
